Council have agreed to a request from the Course Manager that due to the particularly wet summer the period of using mats will be extended for one month (December) to give the fairways and tight landing areas a better chance of recovery. Also for the first time in five years the greens will be verti-drained over the coming winter months. Both these actions will enhance your enjoyment of Balgownie Links throughout the main playing season.
15th hole Green rebuild - Work will commence on rebuilding the 15th green on the 1st of November. This is the first of several greens requiring remedial works due to poor subsoil and drainage problems. The work is being overseen by Dr. Martin Hawtree, Construction by Sol Golf in conjunction with our own green staff. Weather permitting the 15th will be back in play for the 1st of April 2012. See attachment for sequence of work.
